Important dates before and after the closure of Rejsekort

It is no longer possible to travel using the physical Rejsekort.

Important dates
Here were the key dates for the gradual phase-out:

19 March, 2026 was the last day you could buy or order a new physical Youth Card on Rejsekort.

16 May, 2026 was the last day you could buy or order a new physical Rejsekort Personal, Flex, Commuter Combi, and Commuter Card.

20 May, 2026 was the last day you could buy a new physical Rejsekort Anonymous.

28 May, 2026 was the last day you could travel using the physical Rejsekort on buses, local trains, or light rail services in Jutland and on Funen

20 June, 2026 was the last day you could order a replacement Rejsekort. Going forward, you can travel using the Rejsekort app, the Basiskort (physical card), or the Rejsebillet app.

27 June, 2026 was the last day you could use the Check Udvej app for at forgotten check-out

29 June, 2026 was the last day you could:

Travel with the physical Rejsekort.
Top up your physical Rejsekort.
Purchase a new period or a new area for an existing Commuter Card or Rejsekort with Commuter Combi.
Order a replacement card for a Skolekort

30 June, 2026: The Rejsekort system has been shut down, and it is no longer possible to use a physical Rejsekort.

2 July, 2026 was the last day you could approve the decision in an ongoing case, regarding a forgotten check-out via Check Udvej

16 July, 2026 was the last day you could pay overdue invoices via Self Service.

23 July, 2026 was the last day you could log in to Self Service and:

• Update your contact information
• View and download travel history

23 July, 2026 was the last day you could transfer discount level from the physical Rejsekort to the Rejsekort app

How you can travel

Options for travelling by bus, train, metro, and light rail are:

• Rejsekort app: Check in and out in the app and pay continuously at the same price as the physical Rejsekort
• Basiskort (physical card): Check in and out at card readers at the same price as the physical Rejsekort. Choose between personal or anonymous Basiskort
• Rejsebillet app: Buy single tickets, commuter cards, and special tickets in the app. Youth Card can also be issued digitally

Your balance is automatically transferred to your NemKonto.
If you had a balance remaining on your Rejsekort after your last day of travel, we will automatically deposit the amount into your NemKonto.

However, if you have not recieved your refund or an email regarding missing information, you must provide your information yourself, to recieve your refund of the remaining balance and any remaining card fees.
